Monday Moodboard #1

Mondays aren't always the prettiest or cheeriest of days, so I thought why not create a weekly post to make the day feel a little brighter. I might vary this depending on what catches my eye- from wishlists to current inspirations and lovely little things I may come across. This week I'm starting with a wishlist and a bit of inspiration, well, why not for the first week!

Wonderful Wishlist...
(Apologies for my shoddy use/lack of links and photos - I'm still coming to terms with using this)
Topshop striped shrug - £40

ASOS Peter Pan Fur Collar £15

Topshop Knitted Angora Mix Shrug - £40

Topshop Navy Twist Hem Blouse - £38

ASOS Peter Pan Collar Dress petite - £25

ASOS AUTOGRAPH Faux Fur Cuff Lace Up Boots - £55
These are just a few little picks for the week, some of which have probably been blogged about a gazzilion times before (note asos peter pan collar dress) however they are that beautiful that it would be silly not too! I feel my style is making changes since we entered 2011 after looking for bits of inspiration (different bloggers/celebrities/stylish such as Rachel Zoe - post coming soon!), and I hope for the better!

I'm trying to work colours more, even if they are more rustic at the moment (rustic orange, bottle green, navy) as well as piecing different key items together, including my new faux leather shorts (primark little beauties), vintage look faux fur coat (my faux fur love is definitely one that won't be changing) and drop hem tees. I have most definitely (finally!) moved away from my fail sake legging/black vest top dress/cardi/jacket combo! woo for 2011 style fun!

ooh la ombre

So recently my grown out, wishy washy hair has been driving me to shove it up most days due to its lack of want to do anything remotely nice. This consequently has prompted me to look at something (a little) different, and I've noticed the new 'Ombre' trend gracing the pages of many magazines on celebrities locks, which quite frankly, I love!

Right now, after years of highlights bleaching my hair making it not quite in the best condition, I'm starting to think I should jump on this bandwagon! I'm not one to completely idolise celebrities and have never actually entered a salon asking for a celeb hairstyle before, but I just love how easy and low maintenance this would be! I've seen a few other bloggers have had this done with fabulous results and it add's something new and different to a hairstyle without screaming, 'look at me, I'm so unique!'

Now all to do is find a reasonably priced salon to do it for me, as I want it done soonish and probs won't get booked in ar my usual. Watch this space..

Oh pretty little bows

                                                    dress - primark/£15, furcoat - asos/£60
                                                      shoe boots - chockersshoes.com/£25

Apologies first for the slight miserable looking, makeupless face and scraped back hair (especially for first pictures not the best impression aye, i'll get some remotely decent ones up soon). I'd not long been back from a long hungover day at work but desperately wanted to get this outfit up.

Excuses aside I am in lovee with this pussybow camel/beige/brown? (looks different in every light) dress. So cute and most of all SO flattering. Nips you in at the waist and flares out at just the right length. Even the sleeves add the right amount of chicness (even a word?!) without there being way too much billowing material and looking like you've raided your nan's fashion faux pas box.

I was unsure about the colour at first as I'm fairly pale (muchos love for the fake stuff) and blue eyed, which is why I bought it in the other colour, navy, too. Yet when I got it home I tried them on I HAD to keep them both. I mean it would be rude not to. Really, at that price!. What I love most is how affordable this is. Which is something I'm definitely going to focus on in this blog; as a student with an obsession and uncontrollable need to raid the shops every now and then its kind of a must.

I wore it out to the Glee club in town (comedy club - for my dads birthday) and then ditched my coat to meet some friends out; which shows how versatile it is. Im definitely going to be pairing it with thick tights a cardi and ballets for the day aswell.
I teamed it with my new fur beauty (thanks to christmas - I'm not usually one to spend that much on the spur) and my shoebootwedges that quite frankly haven't been off my feet recently whenever I've gone out.

Hello! So I've been meaning to do this for ages, and reading over other fabulous blogs has given me a tad of motivation..

I'm going to try and make this a mash up of fashion, current obessesions and the odd bit of idiocy that usually finds a way into my life. Hope you enjoy, So let's begin..
